
A professional drag queen in Galway, Ireland was stopped for drink driving after a charity event.
He told the District court he did not walk the five minute journey home as it was not safe to do in the city dressed as he was.
38-year-old Eamon Cunnis who pleaded guilty to charges earlier this year was fined and disqualified from driving for a year.
The loss of a driving license was heard in court to have a profound effect on Mr Cunnis who is a dance teacher and performer, who relies on car travel for his work.
Judge Fahy, who oversaw the case, has postponed the disqualification until February 2012, as Mr Cunnis had a number of charity events to participate in over the Christmas period.
Mr Cunnis gave a breath sample of 43 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
