The 28th annual GLAAD Media Awards took place in Los Angeles last night.
A variety of LGBTQ trailblazers and straight allies were celebrated at the celebrity bash, which took place at the iconic Beverly Hilton Hotel.
TV personality Charlie King was granted exclusive access to the event for Out News Global where he mixed with all of the high profile winners and nominees in one of the most memorable nights in the history of GLAAD.
Top awards went to Oscar winner Patricia Arquette, she was honoured with a Vanguard prize. Music sensation Troye Sivan was presented with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, and best picture Oscar winner Moonlight, which took home outstanding film for its portrayal of LGBTQ issues. The film’s Tarell Alvin McCraney and Trevante Rhodes were on hand to accept the award from Mary J. Blige.
Amazon’s Transparent series took home the Outstanding Comedy series trophy.
