One of the backers of the proposed Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Bill – which could be passed in less than 48 hours time – has criticised its proposal to bring in the death penalty for some homosexual acts.

The US Navy has announced that it will allow same-sex marriage ceremonies on its bases once the ban on gays in the military is lifted later in the year.
