GO.GO_Festival_A4_Digital_FlyerIn the last week it has been announced that both Ladyrock and GO.GO Festivals in 2012 have been cancelled.

LadyRock 2012 were due to hold their inaugural festival on May 26th, with GO.GO Festival due to take place on 8th – 10th June.

Jackie Crozier, founder and director of LadyRock said: “LadyRock was set up to be the first event of its kind in the North West, however sadly we have joined a number of other events and festivals across the country which have been hit by the current financial climate. The decision has therefore been made to cancel LadyRock 2012 rather than deliver a festival that would not be up to the standard Manchester, and the LadyRock brand deserves.”

Shockingly, just a few days later GO.GO Festival also revealed that they would also be cancelling and refunding all tickets.

“It is with deep regret that we are announcing the cancellation of GO.GO Festival 2012. 2012 has proved to be a very challenging year, and due to this we do not feel we would be able to deliver a festival to the standard that our artists and audience deserve.”

Both organisers have confirmed that all of those who purchased a ticket to the event will automatically be refunded by their ticket agents.

In what has proven to be a challenging financial climate for festivals, the two women’s festivals aren’t the first to have fallen victim to the Olympics economy. Big Chill, Sonisphere and Oxegen have also cancelled for 2012.
