The makers of American ABC television comedy series Modern Family have been surprised at the acceptance of the gay dads, who form an integral part of the show’s main characters.
The series is aired around the world with objections to gay parents Cameron and Mitchell (shown on the far right) few and far between, according to the show’s producers.
The Emmy-winning comedy has drawn some criticism from the LGBT community in the past for the lack of physical affection between the two characters, which led to a Facebook campaign to show the two kissing on-screen. ‘The Kiss’ was aired in September 2010 but was called “underwhelming” and “a little disappointing” by Perez Hilton, celebrity gay blogger.
