Things Plus Size Girls Can’t Do, Canadian Edition.
2016 saw several public body-shaming incidents which received global media coverage, namely Playboy Playmate Dani Mathers’ public body-shaming of a woman changing in the gym, as well as numerous forced removals of plus size women’s bikini photos on social media by the likes of Instagram and Facebook.
In an age where women of all shapes and sizes are fighting to reclaim their right to feel beautiful at any size, a group of body positive bloggers, models, artists and activists assembled to create their own version of Buzzfeed’s viral video, ‘Things Plus Size Girls Can’t Do’.
Aiming to dispel the negative stereotypes that surround bigger bodies, this video depicts some of the Canadian plus size community’s movers and shakers doing what they do best: blowing plus-size stereotypes out of the water!
This video encourages women to make a New Year’s Resolution of body positivity by embracing themselves just the way they are! This resolution? New Year, Same Me!
