TescoThe leader of a Christian organisation has blamed the infestation of mice at a London branch of a supermarket on their support of gay equality.

Stephen Green, leader of Christian Voice, has blamed Tesco’s sponsorship of London’s Gay Pride 2012 as the reason why it has problems with rodents.

Tesco pledged £30,000 towards the annual celebration in November 2011. The supermarket chain had to close the Tesco Metro store in London’s Bedford Street, Covent Garden on March 26th after it had become infested with mice.

According to Mr Green, this is God’s punishing the chain.

“Nothing has gone right for Tesco since they decided to support gay pride.  Their only hope is to repent of that decision and put their trust in God,” Mr Green wrote on his website.

“Repenting of the ‘Gay Pride’ decision will be part of that.”

Mr Green has previously said that the reason Tesco saw sales, and its share price, drop over the Christmas period, was because of their support for LGBT issues.
