An American teacher has been suspended and assigned to administrative duties after making anti-gay comments on his Facebook.
Mr Buell was given the district’s Teacher of the Year award in 2010. He has taught at Mount Dora for 25 years.
The school has issued guidelines on social networking to teachers.
They are advised that if they ‘feel angry or passionate about a subject, it may not be the time to share your thoughts in a post.’
