A Chicago man was told he could not give blood because he seemed to be gay.
Aaron Pace, 22, insists that he is heterosexual.He told The Chicago Sun-Times: “I was humiliated and embarrassed. It’s not right that homeless people can give blood but homosexuals can’t. And I’m not even a homosexual.”
It is illegal for men who have slept with other men since 1977 to give blood in Chicago.
