But how will her innuendo skills compare to Mel and Sue?

We were devastated when we found out that comedy double act Mel and Sue wouldn’t be presenting Bake Off anymore, now that the popular cookery show is relocating to Channel 4. We will miss their smutty, buttery puns more than we love iced buns, which is an extraordinary amount.

We’ve been waiting with bated breath to find out who the new faces of GBBO will be and now it has finally been revealed. QI host, comedian and DIVA fave, Sandi Toksvig will be taking the helm alongside stand-up and star of The Mighty Boosh, Noel Fielding. Naturally, we’re chuffed that there will still be a hilarious lesbian in the mix.

The fabulous Mary Berry is being replaced by cookery writer Prue Leith meaning that uber chef Paul Hollywood is the only original presenter remaining.

Sandi Toksvig is very excited about her new gig. She commented:

“It is an extraordinary honour to part of this national treasure of a show. Noel Fielding is one of the nicest guys in show business. The first time I met him I felt like I had met a rather wayward cousin whose take on the world made me laugh. The only down side is that he has much better dress sense that I do.”

She added:

“I spend my daytimes on Channel 4 already so it will be a treat to be there in the evenings. I am so delighted to be working with Love Productions and Channel 4 on this best of British show.”

Noel Fielding is also thrilled:

“GBBO is one of my favourite shows. I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me! It’s basically the double.”

Bring on the buns and the double entendres.
