Rainbow Fashion Week™ is back.

Rainbow Fashion Week™ (RFW) – the world’s first carbon neutral fashion week with a roster of exciting talent and events – is back this year to coincide with NYC’s LGBTQ Pride Week. An eight-day celebration of queer fashion, film, art and technology, RFW™ kicks off on Friday June 16th, with the “Top New Media Moguls” event, hosted by VH1 celebrity, Deb Antney.

RFW™ is a series of curated events with a strong message of social responsibility and inclusion for all. In 2014, The Mayor of New York City, Bill deBlasio and his First Lady, Chirlane McCray made RFW™ official, by signing and presenting the organizers with a proclamation. Rainbow Fashion Week™ Founder, E. Jaguar Beckford [Jag], was just named as one of CURVE Magazines “Top Lesbians of 2017” and is honored to be recognized by the LGBTQ+ media.

When it comes to social responsibility and raising awareness, RFW is at the forefront creating safe spaces for creatives to present themselves in fashion. Each event on the schedule is designed to highlight community issues, reinforcing the message that it is ok to be different, and encourages you to embrace your individuality. Anti-bullying, anti-domestic violence, body positivity, trans justice, immigration justice, teen homelessness, trafficking and environmental awareness, are some of the topics that are tackled and highlighted throughout the week, as they affect the LGBTQ+ community both stateside and globally.

Some event highlights to look forward to this year include: “Rainbow Tots,” designed to introduce a younger audience to the world of fashion; “BodyGods™,” a show in which sensual entertainment meets the world of fashion – featuring Stevie Boi; “Hair Du Soleil” which highlights creative hairstyling techniques and hairstylists; and, returning to the line up of events this year, “Inside the Celebrity Closet,” a night which celebrates fashion, glitz, glamour and a journey back in time – featuring Rose Chanel and Fox Empire costume designer, Franklin Rowe; and “Haus of JagandCo,” a runway show, welcoming guest designer, Jah-Phaya Payne from London.

This year’s sponsors and partners include; Banana Republic, Gap for Kids, Starbucks, Summer J Pops, Museum of Sex, Samsung Galaxy, Champion, JagandCo, Crayola, Blumountain, AARP, GAP, Razor, Aveda, Boobi Water, Trevor Project, Transparent Styles, True Colors Fund, BluphotoArt, Spaceworks and Web designer, Elliot Young.

Rainbow Fashion Week™ 2017 is not an event solely for those who identify as LGBTQ, but an event that celebrates inclusivity. Hosted in New York City, one of the world’s major fashion capitals, we are sure this will be the biggest and most impactful #RainbowFashionWeek yet, and they welcome you to be a part of it!
