The sponsors of the ban on same-sex marriage in California have asked the federal judge who ruled the ban unconstitutional to hand over tapes of the trial.
Lawyers acting on behalf of the sponsors have also asked the Court of Appeals to stop Chief District Judge Vaughn Walker showing the tapes to anyone else.
The sponsors began their appeal after Walker gave a talk at the University of Arizona incorporating a clip from the tapes. The sponsors’ lawyers claim this violated a US Supreme Court order.
