Nothing seems to have changed in the Catholic church

In news which may not entirely surprise the increasing number of two-mum and two-dad families across the world, Pope Francis has told a Vatican audience:

“It is painful to say this today. People speak of varied families, of various kinds of family, however, the family [as] man and woman in the image of God is the only one.”

Speaking on 16th June 2017 (that’s 2017, not 1417), Pope Francis praised the “sanctity” of women who forgive cheating spouses, calling the act “the sanctity that forgives all out of love.”

Pope Francis went on to compare the Holocaust, where six million Jews and others were murdered, and hundreds of thousands more were forcibly sterilised to ensure the purity of the ‘Aryan race’, with abortion, where individual women have the right to choose what to do with their bodies without interference from either Nazis or, for that matter, Catholics.

How the New York Times reported Nazi Germany’s sterilisation programme

News of the Pope’s latest comments coincide with The Christian Institute’s Deputy Director Ciarán Kelly stating the news [that eight percent of BBC staff identify as LGBT] was further evidence of the BBC’s “obsession with political correctness”.

He said: “If the BBC was as concerned with accurately reflecting the UK population as it claims to be, they would be actively recruiting Christians.

“Such voices are in very short supply in their offices, while those pushing radical agendas on gender and sexuality are massively over-represented.

“It may be an improvement on last year, but a lot more needs to be done if they want to properly reflect British society.”

Interestingly, church attendances across the UK continue to fall.
