swordThe Chair and CEO of LGBT charities Stonewall and the Lesbian and Gay Foundation were featured in this year’s honours list.

The Chair of Stonewall, David Isaac, was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his voluntary service.

The Chief Executive of LGF, Paul Martin, was awarded the Order of the British Empire, Officer Class, for Services to Equal Opportunities.

Isaac said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted that the work of Stonewall has been marked in this way. All the charity’s successes in recent years have resulted from the efforts of tens of thousands of supporters and hundreds of volunteers and staff. I’m honoured to have been able to play a part in that.’

Paul commented: “I’m genuinely delighted, it means a great deal to be recognised by your country in this way, and the work that everyone at The LGF has done over the years for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGB&T) community is recognised by this award too.”
