The Pride Power List in association with OutNews, part of the Global Diversity Company, is a celebration of Pride and the outstanding achievements of positive role models and community organisations across the UK.

The list is published to coincide with Pride weekend in London.

Organisers want you to nominate the people you believe deserve recognition. Last year, the list included Sir Ian McKellen, Clare Balding, Angela Eagle and retail consultant Mary Portas.

There are several categories in which to nominate including the arts, business leaders, campaigners, charity and community, entertainers, influencers, politicians and workplace heroes.

The Global Diversity Company believe the list serves to encompass both those fighting for equality and people who are influential role models, and with their wide range of categories they ensure that maximum credit is given to nominees.

AJ Higginson, editor of OutNews said: ”We should never underestimate the power of role models. When people see high achievers who they can relate to, who are accomplishing great things, they’re going to think, ‘I can do that.’

“Drawing attention to these role models matters.”

The list will be unveiled at a Pride Power Breakfast in London on June 25th.

Linda Riley, Managing Director of the Global Diversity Company said, “’The list is to celebrate Pride and will be based on a public vote so get nominating now!”

Is there someone you know who deserves recognition for their hard work behind the scenes in the LGBT community?

Who will you be nominating? Tell us on Facebook and Twitter.

Nominations are now open via the Pride Power List website.
