After the Halloween night attack on two gay men near The Gay and Lesbian centre of Greater Long Beach, police have released the names of the suspects.

19 year-old Marquise Lucas, and 27 year-old Sierys Dunbar were both charged on Wednesday with assault with a deadly weapon with an enhancement of great bodily harm.

Long Beach police say that the men’s fists are to be considered as deadly weapons.

Both men sustained moderate injuries, and both have now been released from hospital, paramedics were contacted by witnesses at the attack.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has yet to establish if the attack was a hate crime although homophobic comments were heard at the time.

Police are still investigating the attack and are gathering information.
