
A gay male police constable has accused his superior of homophobic bullying – even though she is openly gay herself.
The 26-year-old unnamed man claims that his boss told him to stop ‘mincing’ around the office.
The pair are due to attend an ‘internal dispute resolution’ meeting together.
Former Met Commander John O’Connor told The Sun: “This is ridiculous and brings the service into disrepute.
“The chief inspector, who understands what it is like to be gay, is right to have a word with him if his conduct is damaging. This is not because he is gay. I would expect her to pull him up in the same way if he had a dirty uniform or long hair.”
