JessieJJessie J is a lesbian, but was told bisexuality would help her public image, claims an unauthorised biography.

‘Jessie J: Who’s Laughing Now’ author Chloe Govan says the musician has identified as gay since the age of 17, but was urged by music executives to present herself as bisexual to the public, as this would be more fashionable and exotic.

“Jessie might have been with boys in the past – but she is 100 per cent gay. Jessie was openly lesbian and didn’t hide it.

“She was advised not to come out, though. Certain people thought being bi was trendy, exotic and a fashion statement. It would increase her allure.” writes Govan.

Jessie J has spoken openly of her bisexuality, saying: “I’ve never denied it. Whoopie doo guys, yes, I’ve dated girls and I’ve dated boys – get over it.”

Govan also writes that it was music executives fears of homophobia which also played a part in the decision.  The unauthorised biography claims that move “incensed The Voice judge, who did not want to hide her true identity.
