Hampshire constabulary has once again been named the UK’s top force for the LGBT community.

PolicewomanChief Constable Alex Marshall said: “My organisation is as committed now as it has ever been to providing an excellent service and ensuring that everyone is treated fairly, equally and with respect.”

The Hampshire police force has recently been named the top constabulary for the sixth year in a row. The most recent challenge faced by the force has been the tackling of homophobic bullying between young people in schools, teaching how derogatory terms like ‘gay’ can cause more harm and distress than young people realise.

The constabulary prides itself on having a strong presence in the community, regularly attending pride events across the country including: Brighton, Reading and Bournemouth.
