The new project will be used to help the media hold Trump and his administration to account.

It will track the discriminatory and hateful statements and stances of President-elect Donald Trump and others selected for roles in his administration.

Although GLAAD is an LGBTQ media advocacy organization, it will catalogue not only anti-LGBTQ remarks, but also comments targeting women, immigrants, Muslims and other minority groups.

“Since Donald Trump’s rise to president-elect, we have seen an unprecedented amount of misinformation and blatant lies go unquestioned and unchallenged in national news media,” said GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.

“The Trump Accountability Project will shine a spotlight of truth on the hateful records of individuals who are or may be participating in the upcoming administration.”

The project (TAP) is based on GLAAD’s successful Commentator Accountability Project, which similarly aimed “to put critical information about frequent anti-gay interviewees into the hands of newsrooms, editors, hosts, and reporters.”
