Jason Daniels, 29, was reinstated on Monday and is thought to be the first person to return since the “don’t ask don’t tell” policy was repealed on September the 20th.

Daniels said in a statement released by the Servicemembers Legal Defence Network, “I am humbled as I am reinstated to the job I love and by the enormous support I have received on this momentous day.”

“I look forward to returning to the Defence Language Institute and ultimately, my career in the military.”
