South London YMCA who provides 453 homes for vulnerable homeless people of all ages, is the first YMCA in Britain to join Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme.

The programme run by the gay equality charity promotes inclusive working environments for all LGB people in the workplace.  The YMCA serving Croydon and Lambeth is the latest to join businesses as diverse as Google UK, and the armed forces.

Laura Doughty, Stonewall Deputy Chief Executive said: “By joining the Diversity Champions programme South London YMCA has recognised that people perform better when they can be themselves. Good employers understand that providing support for all their staff improves operational effectiveness.”

Chief Executive Officer of South London YMCA, Jeremy Gray said: “By supporting and developing our lesbian, gay and bisexual staff through the Diversity Champions programme we’re sending out a powerful message to both our existing and also potential staff.”

South London YMCA is the largest provider of supported housing in Croydon and provides a wide range of quality homes.
