London’s inaugural East End Pride, organised as a response to a homophobic sticker campaign around the area, has been cancelled.
The decision was made after it was revealed that one of its organisers was a founding member of the English Defence League and had connections to far-right groups such as Stop the Islamification of Britain.
The stickers read: “Arise and warn. Gay free zone. Verily Allah is severe in punishment.”
