Torremolinos, home of the largest LGBTQ+ scene on Spain’s Costa Del Sol, is to host a nine week electronic music festival called “Sophie”. Taking place every Sunday afternoon and with capacity for 30,000 people, the outdoor festival starts at the Palacio de Congresos de Torremolinos on 3rd July and runs up until the end of August. German DJ and producer Paul Kalkbrenner, one of the most respected artists on the electronic music scene will open the first edition of Sophie, alongside Giorgia Angiuli Live, Mandar (Lazare Hoche, S.A.M. and Malin Genie) and Janaret.
The line-up strikes a balance between featuring industry heavyweights like Enzo Siragusa, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, [a:rpia:r], Apollonia and Luciano with the most interesting up-and-coming underground artists like Traumer and Chris Stussy. Sophie provides a platform for the debut of many artists and musical genres on the Malaga scene – a perfect match that will be combined with a truly magical open-air venue bathed in the beauty and light of the coast of Malaga.
A spokesperson for Sophie said, “Torremolinos is a special place for its privileged location, its good Mediterranean gastronomy and its great cultural programme. It also has a magical light capable of traversing and transforming. With Sophie, we have created a unique environment that connects with nature and with our inner being, and that through the music of each selected artist, highlights Sophie’s values to feel alive and loved, following the rhythm of our hearts.”
