Manchester Pride has announced a new venue for an evening of exquisite food and drink and dazzling performances as tables go on sale for the sixth annual spring fundraiser.

The gala dinner will take place on Thursday 28th May at Principal Manchester, and will once again bring together sponsors, business leaders, individual supporters, community champions and celebrities to celebrate LGBT+ life and raise money for the charity.

This year’s event will transport guests to the Roaring 20’s. The decade of The Prohibition, jazz, voting rights for women and luxurious parties. Manchester Pride will bring the roaring twenties back to life with its own Great Gatsby style party.

The Spring Benefit will be transformed into an art deco inspired, Prohibition party, where guests will get lost in the glitz and glamour of an elegant 1920’s soiree.

Entertainment for the Manchester Pride Spring Benefit 2020 will come from singer, songwriter and rapper, Fleur East.  Fleur rose to fame in 2014, becoming the first X-Factor contestant to hit number one on the UK iTunes Store chart during the show with her performance of ‘Uptown Funk’ where she eventually came runner-up in the competition.

Following on from previous celebrity DJ guests Gok Wan and Nicola Roberts, in 2020 Melanie Blatt will be bringing the party at the end of the evening to keep guests dancing into the night. As one quarter of the multi award winning, platinum selling girl group All Saints, Melanie Blatt is instantly recognizable, having established successful music and TV career.  Melanie’s DJ sets have taken her across the globe, spinning hip-hop, soul and 90’s RnB at venues in Ibiza, Dubai and London.

The event will be hosted by James Barr. James’s star has grown brighter and brighter over the last 12 months as he now presents the Hit Radio show with Fleur East as well his own highly successful podcast; ‘A Gay and a Non Gay’. An accomplished comedian and host, James will return once again to host the Spring Benefit in 2020.

Mark Fletcher, chief executive for Manchester Pride, said; “The Spring Benefit is always a night to remember and we have some excellent entertainment lined up to perform in one of the city’s most stylish hotels as we get ready for an evening themed around the roaring twenties.

“As an integral part of our fundraising calendar The Spring Benefit welcomes members of the LGBT+ business community, supporters, ambassadors and allies who want to enjoy a really good night out and help us raise money for essential LGBT+ causes at the same time.”

There are a limited number of tickets available for the event and individual tickets can be purchased for £99, which includes a drinks reception, a three-course dinner and a night of fabulous entertainment.

For group bookings there are also table packages available including gold tables for £950 and a diamond table package at £1,595 which includes a VIP drinks reception, chauffeur service to the event, gifts for the guests and a professional red carpet photo opportunity.
