Saturday saw the launch of the exciting Big Gay Lifestyle Show at the Grand Connaught rooms in London in partnership with LGB charity Stonewall and support sponsors Google, and the RAF.

The new show attracted gay-friendly exhibitors from all different markets showcasing their products and organisations, and also featured a main stage with an exciting line up of musicians, comedians and dancers throughout the day.

Thanks to a generous sponsor from organisers Square Peg Media daytime entry was free, so visitors throughout the day could visit exhibitors such as the RAF, Stonewall, Pride London, and Gaydar.co.uk.

Laura Doughty, Stonewall Deputy Chief Executive said: “Stonewall was delighted to support the Big Gay Lifestyle Show as it was a fantastic opportunity to interact with a diverse range of lesbian, gay and bisexual people, and raise awareness of the information and support Stonewall can offer.”

“Not everyone who is LGB attends Pride events, or uses the traditional gay scene or media, and the informal show setting is a fun alternative for raising awareness.”

On the main stage throughout the day there was free entertainment from the wonderful London Gay Men’s Chorus, performances from Trannyshack, and some great comedy from Funny Women.

There was free wine tasting during the day from Barefoot Wines, and plenty of great stalls giving away freebies and services.

At 6pm the exhibitors packed up and the hall was cleared to make way for the evening’s entertainment with Dusty O.

Evening acts included Jill Jackson, The Fuel Girls, comedian Pam Ann, and boy band FTW.

As the evening wound down the after party kicked off at Fire nightclub in Vauxhall.

Linda Riley, MD of Square Peg Media and event organiser said: “I’m delighted that the inaugural Big Gay Lifestyle Show was such a success.  Thanks must go to Gaydar for their generous sponsorship and to Stonewall for their invaluable support.  I’m very much looking forward to our Cardiff event on April 21 at the Millennium Stadium, and to our next London show in Autumn.”

Next year promises to be bigger and better, with Stonewall confirmed as a partner for 2012.  The show will be at the Grand Connaught Rooms on Saturday October 20, 2012.
