The largest newspaper in Minnesota, the Star Tribune, has published a full-page anti-transgender ad, paid for by the Minnesota Child Protection League, an anti-LGBT group, according to Cosmopolitan.com.

The ad reads: “A male wants to shower next to your 14-year-old daughter. Are you okay with that?” and is cited as part of a push to stop the inclusion of transgender athletes in the Minnesota State High School League, according to LGBT rights organisation The Colu.mn

The ad sparked a backlash on social media from outraged readers of the Star Tribune’s Sunday edition, with many users taking to Twitter to say they would cancel their subscription to the newspaper.
