Thinking of starting a family? National event supporting would-be parents returns to London.

The Alternative Parenting Show, part of Alternative Family Week, is due to take place at the Royal College of Surgeons in London on Saturday 24th September 2016.

Now the biggest alternative parenting exhibition and show in Europe, it gives families and wannabe-families useful information (whether they are same-sex or heterosexual couples, single men or women) that can help make their dream of having a family a reality.

According to the UK’s Office for National Statistics, in 2011 there were 8,000 same-sex couples with children in their care. In 2013, this number had risen to over 12,000 couples. Figures for this year have not yet been released, but they are likely to show a further increase.

The event will provide useful advice from leading experts in different fields on how to get through the difficulties of having children. Areas of concern include adoption and fostering, surrogacy, fertility treatments, co-parenting and legal information.

The Alternative Parenting Show will be a one day event that allows you to talk in an informal way to experts who can answer your questions. There will be a series of focus groups and seminars that will allow you to explore areas that interest you in greater detail.

Entry to the show is free.
