Two weeks ago Alina Tykhonova was an ordinary Ukrainian twenty-something who was looking forward to moving into her new apartment in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city. Two days ago she became a refugee, making a five-day, 500-mile journey to relative safety away from the constant bombardment of her home city.
