UNsmallEighty five countries, including the US, have signed a joint statement calling for an end to acts of violence against gay and transsexual citizens.

The statement was signed yesterday at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. Twenty of these nations had never previously signed any agreement relating to gay rights.
