The surprising results of a survey conducted in America have shown that 56% of Catholics in the country are tolerant of homosexuality – in comparison with less than 46% of the general public.

Eighty five countries, including the US, have signed a joint statement calling for an end to acts of violence against gay and transsexual citizens.
