If you’re worried about Trump, it’s time to take positive action.

This Saturday, two big things are happening – one horrifying and one awesome.

1. It will be the first official day of Donald Trump’s presidency of the US.

2. Women all over the world will march in solidarity to stand against the politics of fear and bigotry he promotes.

The largest march is expected to take place in Washington D.C. with over 100,000 people predicted to attend. Hollywood stars including Lea DeLaria, Amy Schumer, Scarlett Johansson, America Ferrera and Cher have said they will be there.

The London contingent will set off from outside the US Embassy at midday GMT and finish with a rally in Trafalgar Square at 2pm. Many groups have pledged their support, including the Women’s Equality Party and Pride London and more than 14,000 individuals have signed up to take part.

On the official website, organisers say, “We will march, wherever we march, for the protection of our fundamental rights and for the safeguarding of freedoms threatened by recent political events.”

They add, “We unite and stand together for the dignity and equality of all peoples, for the safety and health of our planet and for the strength of our vibrant and diverse communities.”

Team DIVA will see you there. Bring water, a rainproof poncho and your fighting spirit.

Women’s March on London will start at 12pm on Saturday 21 January in front of The US Embassy, 24 Grosvenor Square, London, W1A 2LQ.

The march is women-led but all participants are welcome.
