Yesssssss! Boy George’s new single Clouds is out now. 

I always get a bit nervous when one of my fave popsters from Back In The Day releases new material in middle age. Will it be any good? Will his voice hold up? Will my memories of his heyday be forever tarnished?

I needn’t have worried. This first release on George’s new label BGP – with its accompanying video shot by the man himself on an iPhone – is at once mournful and soulful, perfectly suited to George’s huskier, more gravelly delivery. It’s a rare knack to be able to deliver a lyric and sound like you really mean it, and in Clouds the listener can hear – in fact, feel – every emotion.

With the release comes the announcement of a new solo album, Geminis Don’t Read The Manual, coming later this year. To be honest, we can’t wait.
