In support of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces, Team GB will change their logos for the day across all social media channels

Like most fans, Team GB believes sport should be open to everyone:

“We are proud to have taken so many LGBT athletes to last year’s Olympic Games in Rio and will continue to be a proud supporter of diversity in sport”, the official Team GB website reads this morning.

Team GB will be posting and sharing supportive content to help raise awareness of the Rainbow Laces campaign throughout the day. Ben Hawes, Chair of the British Olympic Association Athletes’ Commission said:

“The British Olympic Association is a proud supporter of diversity in sport. Our athletes all buy into the One Team GB values, which builds a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of the team to compete at the summer and winter Olympic Games with the full support of their peers.

“Team GB has had many LGBT athletes competing at the Games, and these athletes continue to do their country and fellow athletes proud. They are fantastic ambassadors for their sports and the LGBT community, and we are delighted to support the Rainbow Laces campaign one of the many important initiatives out there to drive inclusivity and positive awareness.”

You can support too by using #RainbowLaces and #RainbowLacesDay across social media today!
