stonewall_logoLGB rights charity Stonewall has now opened applications for its Healthy Lives programme, which offers free advice for health professionals on how to properly address the needs of gay and bisexual patients and staff.

Each organisation which enrols will receive tailored action plans for the rest of the year. These action plans will not only help them to iron out inequalities in the system, but also to set up support networks and patient groups.

James Taylor, Stonewall’s Health Officer, said: “This unique programme was set up in response to Stonewall’s health research and analysis of employer performance which showed that the NHS needed specific help and targeted expertise in reducing inequalities for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. We look forward to receiving applications for this free support programme – we’re particularly keen to receive applications from GP groups and Foundation Trusts.”

The deadline for applications is 6 May. To enrol, visit stonewall.org.uk/healthylives
