Zoe Lyons, Rosie Wilby and Horse McDonald performed powerful coming out stories at last night’s LGBT Switchboard gala.

Last night the LGBT Switchboard held a fundraising gala with a difference. The brilliant charity hosted a one-off West End performance of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival smash hit Outings. This unique show based on real life coming out stories was written by Matthew Baldwin and Thomas Hescott as part of the Pride in London Festival.

The cast of twenty included DIVA faves Zoe Lyons, Rosie Wilby, Horse McDonald and Eastenders star Riley Carter, alongside many other talented performers. They took to the stage of the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue and kept the audience riveted with their powerful, and often hilarious, tales of coming out.

All the proceeds of the fabulous evening’s entertainment went to the LGBT Switchboard, a confidential helpline for members of the LGBT community, which has been running since 1974.

On the official website, the LGBT Switchboard pledges:

“Our volunteers will continue to provide support and information to these people until the day our phones stop ringing.”
