He may not have had much luck with his singer career but Rylan Clark is at least set for TV hosting stardom!
The X Factor quarter-finalist is to fill in for Richard Arnold on Daybreak while he takes a break from his hectic schedule.
Rylan will present the showbiz slot on the ITV1 breakfast show at 7.50am from Monday to Friday next week (3 to 7 December).
Richard is taking a week’s holiday after juggling Daybreak and Strictly Come Dancing duties tired him out.
The 24-year-old will be reporting all week from parties and shows and will be relaying all the celebrity gossip.
We’re sure he’ll do well with his flamboyant personality as Rylan – who left the competition in week eight – won over millions with his individual style and performances.
As expected, he is chuffed to bits about his new gig.
He said: “I can’t believe it! I only left X Factor a week ago and now I’m joining Lorraine and Aled on the Daybreak sofa! I’m a massive fan of the show and it’s going to be so much fun sharing all the showbiz news and gossip with the nation each morning. I’m looking forward to keeping Richard’s seat warm while he’s swanning off on holiday, but I won’t be asking for any dancing tips just yet!”
Richard Arnold joked: “The wonderful thing about this hurly burly business we call show is that you know ultimately you will one day be replaced by someone younger, thinner and in this case much taller than you. I wish Rylan all the best in his new role at Daybreak.”
