The British government has added the Canary Islands, which includes gay holiday hotspot Gran Canaria, to the UK travel corridor list, giving LGBTQ+ holidaymakers a gay-friendly option for a quarantine free winter break.

Although travellers returning from mainland Spain remain subject to the government’s quarantine rules, the impact of the virus has been far less severe in the Canaries, prompting today’s announcement.

Gran Canaria has long been a favourite of LGBTQ+ holidaymakers who are attracted by the island’s subtropical all-year-round climate, huge sandy beaches and vibrant gay scene.

OutNewsGlobal’s travel division, ONG Travel, is currently offering 7 night holidays to Gran Canaria in December from £175 per person based on two sharing a studio apartment with flights from Stansted.
