Poland’s Minister for Equality, Elzbieta Radziszewska, has announced that she is pushing for the government to provide help for gay couples who wish to marry overseas.
The announcement comes as a pleasant surprise in a country which has not traditionally been a great advocate of gay rights.
Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita published a study last year which found that 79% of Poles opposed gay marriage. 69% of respondents said that gay people should not have the right to be openly gay.
