ugandanflagUgandan lesbian ‘BN’ is no longer being detained in the immigration removal centre that she was immediately taken to after her case was granted an injunction last week.

BN has been given the freedom to carry out further work with her legal associates on a new appeal for asylum. It is thought that she has been released from detention because she is unlikely to abscond.

All Out campaign has run a petition to keep Ms Namigadde in the country, with over 60,000 people signing a letter to the UK Home Secretary Theresa May, as well as staging marches in London and putting pressure on their respective Parliamentary representatives. The latter followed the motion sponsored by Andy Slaughter, MP for Hammersmith, which is BN’s constituency. Over 50 MPs subsequently pledged their interest.
