Attend the long-awaited UK premiere of Mart Crowley’s For Reasons That Remain Unclear at Islington’s King’s Head Theatre

Author Mart Crowley, is most famous for his ground-breaking play The Boys In The Band (1968), a dark exploration of being gay and self-loathing which centres around a group of pre-legalisation gay men gathering for an emotionally toxic birthday party.

Now here is your chance to see another of Crowley’s plays!

Over the next two weeks, the much-anticipated European premiere of Crowley’s provoking and hilarious play For Reasons That Remain Unclear is headlining the King’s Head Theatre as part of its summer Queer Season.

The play has been revived by the producers of smash-hits Coming Clean and Strangers in Between. The plots centres around a chance meeting between Patrick, a Hollywood screenwriter, and Conrad, an older Catholic priest and is set in a hotel room overlooking the Piazza De Spagna in 1990’s Rome.

The two men share a drink and over the course of the evening, as their conversation becomes more intimate and frank, it becomes clear that at least one of them has something to confess…

Artistic Director, Adam Spreadbury-Maher says, “I’m beyond thrilled that this powerful, prescient play will headline our biggest and boldest Queer season yet.

“Mart Crowley’s The Boys in the Band is one of the most influential plays of the twentieth century and I’m delighted to give UK audiences a chance to see an under-sung classic by this brilliant dramatist for the very first time.”

This play is guaranteed to set your pulse racing so head to the King’s Head Theatre website to secure your ticket now!
