Spice Girl Mel B has officially revealed to Out News Global that she would ‘love to host the British LGBT Awards again.’

The star hosted the RBS sponsored ceremony alongside Blue singer, Duncan James, on Friday.

Over five hundred people packed the annual LGBT event to celebrate the people and organisations with a track record of promoting equality and diversity.

Sir Ian McKellen won the prestigious Global Icon Award as British LGBT Awards organisers paid tribute to his longstanding activism on equality issues while Brian May and Eastenders cast member Danny Dyer both won Straight Ally awards.

TV favourite Alan Carr, who has had his Channel 4 show chatty man since 2009, was presented with the LGBT Celebrity of the Year award. He saw off tough competition form the likes of Mary Portas, Caitlyn Jenner and Paul O’Grady.

The BBC celebrated winning the Media Moment of the Year award for BBC Two’s Boy Meets Girl. Stars of the UKs first ever transgender comedy series, Rebecca Root and Denise Welch, took to the stage to collect the award.

Speaking exclusively to Out News Global, Mel B said:

“I would love to host the British LGBT Awards again. What a fantastic night it was. I loved being involved. There were so many wonderful and inspirational winners. It was great to help pay tribute to them.”
