Join the campaign to improve funding for LGBTQ filmmakers.

We can’t wait for the release of hot new queer webseries, Different For Girls. The stellar cast includes The L Word’s Rachel Shelley and Guinevere Turner, Her Story‘s Caroline Whitney Smith and DIVA 250 Awards Rising Star nominee Victoria Broom.

In fact, DIVA were so excited that they put the cast on the latest cover of DIVA magazine and interviewed them all to get the inside scoop. You can get your hands on the March issue of DIVA here.

This Friday evening will mark DFG’s sold out premiere at London’s BFI Flare film festival. Then on Saturday 18 March the first episode will be made available on the exciting new YouTube channel Lesbian Box Office.

It is so important to see our stories onscreen, particularly when they are made by LGBTQ filmmakers like award-winning writer Jacquie Lawrence and director Campbell X. But unfortunately, our community still faces a serious problem when it comes to sourcing funding for films.

To raise awareness about this issue, the DFG team are running a Thunderclap campaign. For every person who signs up, an automated post will go out on their social media saying:

“Support LGBTQ filmmakers! The must-watch web series debuts online 6pm 18 March. WATCH IT!”

The project is already up to 8.5 million social reach. If you’d like to join the campaign, you can do so here.

And if you’ve missed out on tickets to the special presentation, make sure you tune in on Lesbian Box Office this Saturday to watch the brand new show.

To get you in the mood, here’s a little sneak peak.
