Last night was the press screening of the hotly anticipated lesbian web series Different For Girls. The amazing cast includes L Word alumni Rachel Shelly and Guinevere Turner as well as Her Story’s Caroline Whitney Smith and DIVA 250 Awards nominee Victoria Broom.

Actors, journalists and celebs, such as Bad Girls star Alicya Eyo, YouTubers Whitney and Megan and our very own DIVA columnist Lady Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, gathered at a swanky London hotel to binge-watch the first series of DFG and enjoy the amazing reception.

We can confirm that the series is every bit as brilliant as we’d hoped. Full of awesome queer characters, heartbreaking emotional conflicts and steamy romantic encounters, this is the programme you need in your life.

In the words of series writer and novelist Jacquie Lawrence:

“Different for Girls is an uber modern relationship drama featuring an eclectic mix of LGBT characters as they navigate their complicated love and family lives. We like to call it the Real Lesbian Housewives of West London!”

Scroll down to watch the trailer. You won’t regret it.

Sadly, there is a serious lack of funding available for queer women in the arts so make sure you support this awesome project. You can get involved now by signing up for the Thunderclap campaign to promote awareness of the series.

Join up to the Thunderclap and at 5.30pm on 18 March, there will be a one-time automated post on your favourite social media platform with a link to the series and the message:

“Support LGBT film-makers! The must-watch web series debuts online 6pm 18 March. WATCH IT!”

You can join the Thunderclap campaign here.

The brand new issue of DIVA features the DFG cast on the cover as well as exclusive individual interviews.
