italyA bill to protect LGBTs from discrimination in Italy has been voted against by the country’s parliament.

The Chamber of Deputies yesterday voted 293 to 250 against the legislation.

Campaigners are demanding that the EU intervenes immediately.

Italy already has legislation in place to prevent discrimination based on race, religion, ethnicity and nationality.
