The four part series set in Brighton is about love, friendship and identity.

As We Are is the new four-part LGBT+ web series about love, friendship, identity, and the complexities of attraction.

This comedy-drama follows Chloe as she visits Brighton for a week to look after her ex-girlfriend Robyn’s cat while Robyn goes to a conference with her new girlfriend.

While in Brighton, Chloe goes on internet dates with two very different women, and also meets Blake, Robyn’s neighbour, whom Robyn is quick to out to Chloe as a trans man. It’s the first time that Chloe has ever met a person with a trans experience, and she finds herself attracted to Blake; but as a gay-identified woman, could it be that she just doesn’t see him for who he really is?

As We Are has recently been selected for festivals internationally, including the Los Angeles Film Awards, the Canadian Diversity Film Festival, the Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival and the London Independent Film Awards 2017.

Written and directed by published novelist, playwright, and award-winning screen writer Deborah Espect, the drama features a predominantly local, female, LGBT+ cast and crew. The web series features trans activist Fox Fisher and Helen Oakleigh, who recently was included in the ‘DIVA 100 Powerlist 2016’ at number 97.
