Police say anyone who had sex with 26-year-old needs to get tested immediately.
Police originally feared two men were infected with HIV by Daryll Rowe but that number has been rising steadily and now stands at 10.
Rowe has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody in Scotland.
His accusers say he secretly tampered with condoms after claiming to use protection and then knowingly and deliberately gave them HIV whilst having sex with them in Brighton between October 2015 and January 2016.
Rowe denies all charges. He’ll be transferred to Lewes near Brighton to stand trial.
None of his alleged victims can be named after a judge granted them lifetime anonymity.
If you have HIV and you’re not getting treatment and you’re deliberately infecting people, then it’s GBH and a possible life sentence in prison but it’s hard for prosecutors to prove someone has been deliberately transferring the virus.
Rowe was living in Brighton when he allegedly committed his crimes.
He went on the run for five weeks after failing to answer bail last November and his mother had to beg him to turn himself in.
She said: “We just want to know he’s safe. He needs to come back.”
After police launched a nationwide hunt, the former hairdresser was eventually found in Wallsend, North Tyneside.
Police say anyone who had sex with Rowe should get tested.
