The latest episode of Glee scheduled to air tonight on Sky 1 in the UK will show the cult show’s gay couple lose their virginity.

Main character, Kurt Hummel who is played by Chris Colfer, found love with Blaine Anderson from a rival choir.  The episode will show them take their relationship further, as well as the show’s main straight couple.

Chris Colfer, who won the 2010 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series said: “I think it’s a huge deal that this is the first time something like this has been shown on television, but I think it’s handles so delicately that I don’t think it will have quite the shock factor.”

Glee co-creator, Ryan Murphy, said: “Everybody has seen a straight couple losing their virginity, but has anyone dovetailed the gay and straight stories together and given them equal weight?  That seemed like an exciting choice and a new thing.”

The Fox network has been questioned about broadcasting the episode from the Parents Television Council.

President of the council Tim Winter said: “The gender of the high school characters involved is irrelevant.  Research proves that television can, and likely will, influence a teen’s decision to become sexually active.  Fox knows the show inherently attracts kids.”

Star, Chris Colfer described the scene as “very sweet” although his character is to suffer a setback when a new character, Sebastian makes a move on Kurt’s boyfriend.
