A viral video of two gay men at a rally supporting Donald Trump has led to online backlash against them.

Wall Street Journal’s Jason Bellini interviewed Dewey Lainhart and Cody Moore during a Trump rally in Cincinnati.

Asked why exactly they want Donald Trump to be the next president, Lainhart replied: “Tired’a the bullshit government! I work in the steel industry I see it hardcore at the trades and stuff. Time for a change. Trump’s the man for it.”

Moore added: “Plus I really feel like he would bring more jobs to the country.”

The interview was posted to Facebook earlier this month, has more than 200,000 views and more than 900 comments. Online viewers called the couple “idiots,” “rednecks,” and “dumber than dirt.”

Lainhart and Moore say they have received death threats from gay people warning them not to leave their house or go to any gay clubs, and many have described the pair as “traitors to the gay community.”

The couple told reporter Bellini that they don’t regret doing the interview, but admitted that it put a damper on the excitement they felt over their recent engagement.

A recent poll shows that almost 75% of gay voters will be voting for Clinton on November 8, but there’s still a quarter who seem to think a vote for Trump is not a threat against their rights.
