Stonewall’s eighth annual workplace equality index of the top 100 lesbian, gay and bisexual friendly employers in the UK has been released.
In number one place was accounting and professional services firm Ernst & Young. Harry Gaskell, Chair of Diversity and Inclusiveness Steering Group at Ernst & Young said “Being named 2012 Employer of the Year is an achievement that we’re very proud of. I’m really happy with the great progress the firm has made over the years since it first entered the Workplace equality Index in 2005, and look forward to continuing to champion the diversity and inclusiveness agenda in 2012.”
The Home Office came in second place, having topped the list in 2011, with Barclays bank in third place overall.
The study is based on factors such as employee policy, staff training and development.
